Causes of Left Stomach Pain
Left-sided stomach pain can be caused by many things. Can be due to conditions or minor illnesses, such as when entering ovulation or due to hardened feces. It could also be due to severe conditions, such as kidney stones, ovarian cysts, or cancer.
Mild left abdominal pain will usually decrease within a day or two. But if you have been injured in an accident, consult a doctor immediately if you experience it. Similarly, if the complaint of left abdominal pain continuously felt and does not get better, so it can be treated according to the cause.

How to handle it?
Management of left abdominal pain must be adjusted to the cause. Mild conditions can generally be treated with simple home-style treatments or with over-the-counter medicines sold at pharmacies. However, there are also things that need to be addressed with special treatment from a doctor, if the cause is classified as serious. Therefore, it is important to see a doctor if stomach pain continues, gets worse or is accompanied by other symptoms such as fever, vomiting and diarrhea. As an initial treatment, you can reduce the pain by doing simple things at home as below.- When pain strikes the left abdomen, it's better to lie down and rest until the pain decreases.
- While lying down, you can also compress a sick stomach with a towel that has been soaked in warm water.
- Expand to consume water and drink slowly. Avoid filling your stomach with caffeinated or carbonated drinks, such as tea, coffee, or soda. Also avoid alcoholic drinks.
- Avoid taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as aspirin and ibuprofen.
- Avoid spicy, high-fat foods to avoid getting worse.
